QR Code for Google Reviews

The fastest route to more reviews: a code on the receipt, the counter or your business card that opens the review form directly. No searching, no typing, and nobody on your team has to ask.

Need to change the target after printing? Then you want a dynamic QR code, €4.99 one-time.

  • Fastest way: open your Business Profile, click "Ask for reviews", copy the link
  • Paste that link into the generator above. PNG for print, SVG for your print shop

Why a QR code at all?

The obstacle with Google reviews is never willingness. It is the route. A happy customer would have to open the app, search for your business, pick the right listing, scroll down and only then start writing. Between "happy to" and "I'll do it later" sit five taps, and "later" in practice means never.

A QR code skips all five. Point the camera, tap, the form is open and the cursor is blinking. Businesses that print the code on receipts regularly report noticeably more reviews without staff having to ask anyone. That is the real win: nobody has to ask for a favor.

Step 1: Find your review link

There are two ways. The first is the easy one.

Through your Business Profile (recommended)

  1. Sign in to Google with the account that manages your business
  2. Search for your own business name. The management panel appears right in the search results
  3. Click "Ask for reviews"
  4. Google shows a short link in the form g.page/r/…/review. Copy it

Through the Place ID (if the button is missing)

  1. Open the Place ID Finder
  2. Search for your business on the map. Google shows a Place ID such as ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4
  3. Insert it into this address:
https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=YOUR_PLACE_ID

Both links lead to the same place: straight into the review form, not to your profile page.

Step 2: Test the link before you print

This is the step almost everyone skips, and the reason for most useless table tents. Open the link on a phone where you are not signed in as the business owner. The window with five stars and a text field has to appear immediately.

If you see your profile page or an error instead, the Place ID is wrong or the business has not been verified yet.

Step 3: Create the code and place it

Paste the tested link into the generator above, adjust color and shape, download. Use SVG for print, PNG for screens and POS systems.

Where the code works best:

Place Why it works
On the receipt or invoice The moment of satisfaction is still fresh
Table tents in restaurants and cafés Read while waiting
Sticker on the exit door Last thing seen on the way out
Back of a business card For trades and services after the job is done
In the follow-up email Works digitally too, and better than a bare link there

One sentence next to it helps more than any design: "Happy with everything? Two sentences on Google help us a lot." Specific, short, no begging.

What you must not do

Google's rules are clear here, and violations can cost you the profile.

You may show the code to everyone who visited. That is allowed and completely sufficient.

Static or dynamic?

For a single location with a fixed profile, a static code is enough. The review link does not change as long as the listing exists.

A dynamic code pays off in three cases:

  1. Several locations or a move. If the business moves or profiles get merged, the Place ID changes. With a dynamic code you swap the destination, the printed table tents stay where they are
  2. You want to know whether it works. A dynamic code counts scans by day, country and device. You see whether the table tent or the code on the receipt performs better
  3. Switching to another platform later. If you ever want to send people to Trustpilot or Yelp instead, you just change the destination

With us that costs €4.99 one-time per code, no subscription. If you have seen other providers charge $49 to $197 for a "lifetime" code: a dynamic code is only a short redirect, no media storage, on EU hosting that costs little to run. That is why €4.99 covers it for good.

FAQ

The code opens my profile page instead of the form. Why? The wrong link is stored, usually the normal Maps address. Only g.page/r/…/review and search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=… open the form directly.

Does the customer need a Google account? Yes, submitting a review requires a Google account. On Android that is practically always the case, on iPhone not necessarily. So the code does not work for everyone, but for the vast majority.

How big does the code need to be on a table tent? Rule of thumb: edge length at least one tenth of the scanning distance. On a table tent scanned from 30 cm (12 in), 3 cm (1.2 in) is enough. On a window sticker facing the sidewalk, more like 10 cm (4 in).

Can I see who left a review? No, and that would not be permitted anyway. A dynamic code only counts anonymous scans, not people. The reviews themselves you see as usual in your Business Profile.

Am I allowed to ask for a review? Yes. What is prohibited is the incentive, not the request. Asking politely is explicitly fine.
