Google Review Link: Get the Direct Link to Your Review Form

The link that takes customers straight into the review form, not to your profile page. Where it lives in your Business Profile, how to tell you have the right one, and how to share it so people actually use it.

Need to change the target after printing? Then you want a dynamic QR code, €4.99 one-time.

In short

  • The link is ready-made in your Google Business Profile: open the profile, choose "Ask for reviews", copy the link. Nothing to build
  • The right link opens the form directly, not your profile page. It starts with g.page/r/ or search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=
  • Test it in a private window before sharing. Signed in, you always see the form. Your customers might not
  • Share it in your email signature, on invoices, via WhatsApp or text, or as a QR code for the counter
  • No incentives for reviews. It breaks Google's policies and can run into consumer protection rules

Pricing and privacy at QR Kontor

Static QR codes are free, with no sign-up, no limit and no watermark. Dynamic QR codes, where you can change the destination after printing, cost €4.99 one-time per code. No subscription, no recurring fees. If you have seen other providers charge $49 to $197 for a "lifetime" code: a dynamic code is only a short redirect, no media storage, on EU hosting that costs little to run. That is why €4.99 covers it for good.

Why the link matters so much

Someone who wants to leave a review but first has to search for your business, open the profile, scroll down and find the right button will in most cases not leave one. Every hurdle costs you a share of the people who were actually willing.

The review link removes every hurdle but one: the customer taps, the form is open, they pick stars and write two sentences. That is the whole difference between "leave us a review on Google sometime" and a review that actually arrives.

Step 1: Get the link from your Business Profile

This is the route Google itself intends.

  1. Sign in to Google with the account that manages your Business Profile
  2. Search for your own business name. The management panel appears right in the search results, or open business.google.com
  3. Click "Ask for reviews" (depending on the interface also "Get more reviews")
  4. Google shows a short link in the form g.page/r/…/review. Copy it

Done. That is all it takes.

Step 2: Check the link before you share it

This is where most mistakes happen, and they only surface when a customer says "it didn't work for me".

Open it in a private window. As long as you are signed in to your Google account, you always land in the form. A private window shows you what a stranger sees.

Test it on a phone. Most reviews come from phones. If the Maps app opens and shows your profile page instead of the form, the wrong link is stored.

How to recognize the right link:

Link starts with What happens
g.page/r/ + ID + /review opens the form directly. Correct
search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= opens the form directly. Also correct
maps.google.com/… or goo.gl/maps/… opens the profile page. The customer still has to search
g.page/ + business name without /review opens the profile page. Wrong for this purpose

Step 3: Share the link where it gets used

A link only helps at the moment the customer is satisfied and has two minutes to spare.

Email signature. One line under your name: "Happy with our work? A review helps us a lot:" and the link. Works on every job without anyone having to remember.

Invoice and order confirmation. The moment the work is done. As a sentence in the footer, on printed invoices as a QR code.

WhatsApp or text message after the appointment. Personal, short, with the link. Works best for trades, clinics and service businesses because the message arrives while the impression is still fresh.

At the counter, on the table, on the door. The link as text is useless here. Nobody types out g.page/r/AbCdEf/review. This is where it belongs in a QR code. How to set one up and how big it needs to be is covered in QR Code for Google Reviews.

At the top of this page you can paste the copied link straight into the generator and download the code.

What you must not do

The rule is simple and still gets broken constantly: Asking is allowed, paying is not.

On top of Google's policies, consumer protection rules in the US (FTC) and the UK (CMA) cover fake and paid reviews. Check the current guidelines before you run any review campaign. A friendly sentence with the link, on the other hand, is explicitly fine.

FAQ

Can I make the link shorter or nicer? Yes, with a link shortener or a dynamic QR code. The advantage of the dynamic code: should Google ever change the link format, you swap the destination in the dashboard and every printed code stays valid.

The link opens the profile page instead of the form. Why? The normal Maps address is stored. Only g.page/r/…/review and search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=… open the form directly. Repeat Step 1 and take the link from "Ask for reviews".

Does the customer need a Google account? Yes, submitting a review requires a Google account. On Android that is practically always the case, on iPhone not necessarily.

Can I have several links for several locations? Yes. Every location has its own Business Profile and therefore its own review link. One link per location, one code per location.

Can I see who reviewed via the link? No, and that would not be permitted anyway. A dynamic code only counts anonymous scans. The reviews themselves you see as usual in your Business Profile.
